Little Soldier for macOS
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
Little Soldier is a local-first clipboard manager. Clipboard history and OCR processing remain on your Mac.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the Little Soldier macOS application handles information when you use clipboard history, search, previews, OCR text capture, Quick Paste, Paste Stack, collections, pins, and related app features.
2. Data collection by the developer
Little Soldier does not require an account and does not collect or transmit your clipboard content, OCR results, files, images, documents, search queries, usage history, contacts, location, or device identifiers to the developer.
The app does not operate a developer server and does not include an active online service for clipboard history, OCR, analytics, advertising, or cloud synchronization.
3. Information processed and stored locally
To provide its core features, Little Soldier may process and store the following information locally on your Mac:
- clipboard text, rich text, HTML, images, PDFs, and user-selected file references;
- the source application name, copy dates, copy count, pins, collections, and sensitivity classification;
- OCR text, detected links, QR codes, and barcodes when you request a capture;
- app preferences, excluded applications, themes, window settings, and feature configuration.
This information supports clipboard history, local search, previews, OCR, organization, and paste workflows. It is not sent to the developer or third parties.
4. Encryption and Keychain
Saved clipboard history content and titles are encrypted on your Mac using AES-GCM. Little Soldier creates and stores the encryption key in the macOS Keychain with device-only accessibility.
The encryption key is not transmitted to the developer or stored on a developer-operated server.
5. Clipboard privacy controls
Little Soldier provides controls that help you decide what enters history:
- Privacy Mode stops new automatic clipboard items from being saved;
- Exclude Current App ignores new copies from an application you choose;
- known password managers, Apple Keychain, secure input, concealed data, and transient clipboard data are excluded from automatic capture;
- Clear Sensitive removes locally stored items classified as sensitive;
- individual items or all unpinned history can be deleted from the app.
6. OCR and system permissions
OCR, QR-code, and barcode recognition use Apple Vision locally on your Mac.
Screen Recording permission is requested only when you ask Little Soldier to capture text or codes from an area of the screen. Accessibility permission is used only when Quick Paste or Paste Stack sends a paste command to another application.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in macOS System Settings. Little Soldier does not use these permissions to transmit screen or clipboard content.
7. Network, analytics, advertising, and tracking
Little Soldier does not use analytics services, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, tracking technologies, fingerprinting, or third-party profiling tools.
The app does not show ads and does not track your activity across apps, websites, or services. Clipboard history, search, encryption, and OCR work locally and do not require an internet connection.
8. Local diagnostics
Little Soldier may write limited operational messages to Apple’s unified logging system on your Mac. These messages may include operation names, item counts, app state, and error descriptions used to diagnose failures.
The app does not intentionally write clipboard content, recognized OCR text, search queries, or encryption keys to these logs. Little Soldier does not upload the logs; their retention and access are controlled by macOS.
9. Third-party software
Little Soldier includes open-source software for app preferences, Launch at Login, interface colors, and local logging. These components are bundled with the app and are not used to collect or transmit your personal data.
Apple may process information independently when you use the Mac App Store, macOS permissions, Keychain, or other Apple system services. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies.
10. Retention, deletion, and your choices
By default, Little Soldier keeps a limited number of unpinned clipboard-history items on your Mac. You can change the history limit, delete individual items, clear unpinned history, clear sensitive items, exclude applications, or enable Privacy Mode.
Little Soldier does not retain your information on developer-operated servers, so there is no server-side account or personal-data record to delete. Removing the app does not automatically remove every item that macOS may retain separately, such as permissions or Keychain entries; those remain under your control through macOS.
11. Children’s privacy
Little Soldier does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Little Soldier’s features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
